Proudly the County Seat of DuPage County, the scenic City of Wheaton is a distinctive community situated within the natural spaces of the region. The village is just 25 miles west of Chicago, which is easily accessible from Wheaton's downtown Metra station, and is convenient to major highways and airports. Settled in 1838, Wheaton is a blend of big-city comforts and small-town charm that makes it an ideal place to work, live and visit.

Here are some notable facts on Wheaton:

  • Rated among the Top 12 Best Places to Live by Chicago Magazine in 2017
  • Wheaton ranked #6 in the National Council of Home Safety and Security's 2017 ranking of the Top 100 Safest Cities in America
  • A "Top Walkable City" ranked by George Washington University
  • A Tree City USA from 1986 to 2017
